CIP stands for Clean-in-place. This machine cleans the fermenters and brite tanks in Phillips Brewery. I adapted the original CIP system to include some automation.
The original version required the brewers to manually turn on valves and pumps and to keep track of cleaning times. The modifications I implemented vastly simplified the process. All the brewer has to do is connect the hoses and select the appropriate cleaning cycle. The rest is done automatically.
The automation of the CIP System allowed for optimization of the cleaning procedure. It saves energy and water, reduces chemical waste, and allows the brewers to spend their time on the art of making beer.
