Mike holds a bachelors in electrical engineering from the University of Victoria and a diploma in mechanical engineering technology from Camosun College where he earned flawless honor roll designation and won several awards.
Mike started Viala Technologies in 2015 when the owner of Denman Island Chocolate asked him to automate a tedious task for which no commercial solution was available. Since then, he’s added automation to a number of processes which have helped local small businesses improve quality, reduce waste, and operate more efficiently.
Mike was born and raised on Southern Vancouver Island, and couldn’t have chosen a better place to grow up. He loves his community, and gets great satisfaction in applying his talents to helping local shops grow their business and improve their bottom line.
